Zurich is the largest and main industrial centre of Switzerland, located on Lake Zurich. The three towers of the churches create the remarkable view — the Grossmünster cathedral, the Fraumünster church and St. Peter’s (the largest clock in Europe is situated there). There are nearly 1200 fountains in the city. The water that flows there is the crystal clear and safe to drink. XIX century synagog is the most valuable monument of the city. It is designed in the Moorish style. There is a great number of museums in the city, these are, among others Kunsthaus and Rietberg. The first contains all European culture periods works of art and the latter non-European ones, Asian and African mostly. The Bahnhofstrasse is the most famous and the most expensive street at the sam time, leading directly to the main railway station. Every year, it holds the outdoor great event — the Street Parade with electronic music compositions to be heard, modelled on the Love Parade. FIFA HQ is located in Zurich. Once a year the best worldwide goalkeeper is chosen during a gala.
Train to Zurich
The Zurich railway station is the main station and the largest one in the country. It is located in the city centre. Services regional connections within Switzerland (Intercity train leaves every 30 minutes) as well as international to Germany, Italy, Austria and France.
